In his words:
I am a longtime resident of the Phoenix community.
I joined the military (USAF) after graduating from high school. As a
contracting buyer in the Air Force I helped manage, perform and administer
purchasing contracts for commodities and services handling over $300,000 of
the base's annual budget.
Currently, I am member of the Crystal Meth Task Force, American Legion,
Phoenix 2010 Census Complete Count Committee, Encanto Village Planning
Committee, Latino HIV/AIDS Day of Awareness and is a founding member of
Human and Equal Rights Organizers.
As a community organizer I work to create all inclusive coalitions to secure
equal rights in local communities.
In the Phoenix City Council’s Crystal Meth Task Force, co-chaired by Vice
Mayor Tom Simplot, I help put focus on statewide action, public education
and a real treatment plan for those not yet lost to crystal meth.
On Encanto Village Planning Committee I volunteer my time to assist the
Planning Commission in defining in greater detail the intended future
function, density and character of subareas of the village; commenting on
proposals for the new zoning districts or land use districts.
Encanto Village is one of the 15 villages that make up Phoenix, Arizona.
The core of the Encanto Village is Park Central Mall. Other points of
interest include Encanto Park, Steele Indian School Park, Phoenix College,
and the Arizona State Fair, on whose fairgrounds is Arizona Veterans
Memorial Coliseum.
I have also been involved in Central Phoenix and Democratic Party politics
for years.
Currently, I am working with the Riverside School District helping with
school enrollment while sharing the district’s school programs and visions
with the local community.
I am candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 15
(2010)
I am big on building bridges to improve our community. I hope to network
with many people in the next few years. |
